Signs of revival in trade volume and export figures of the Aegean Free Zone in August, gained momentum in the month of September and reached double digit figures. Trade volume and export numbers of the Zone exceeded the pre-pandemic figures. Data of the past two months indicate that the Trade Volume of the Aegean Free Zone has reached 304 million 933 thousand USD in August, with a 5.9% increase compared to the same month of 2019, and reached 380 million 361 thousand USD in September with a 12.9% increase compared to 2019. Similarly, export figures of the Zone, which had reached 156 million 733 thousand USD with an increase of 2.4% in August compared to the same month of 2019, were realized at 202 million 669 thousand USD in September with an increase of 14.3% compared to 2019, strengthening the positive expectations for the last quarter of the year. These figures also indicate that the companies in the Aegean Free Zone have overcome the bottleneck that emerged in the global markets due to the pandemic.
