ESBAS`s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Unit services employees of ESBAS and user companies in the Aegean Free Zone by providing eight workplace physicians, three occupational safety specialists, six nurses and one biologist (three full-time, five part-time), Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The medical clinic offers a range of services to include: physical examinations for SSI (Social Security Institution) and private insurance patients, injections, dressings, IV fluids, minor surgical interventions, emergency blood and urine tests and EKG screening. The clinic also contracts special,ultrasonography, audiometry, respiratory functions tests, blood tests and chest x-rays with local area medical units and laboratories.
Zone companies are also offered environmental measurements, risk analyses, site visits and legal regulation tracking services by intermediary third party companies and occupational safety specialists. Occupational Health and Safety educational seminars are provided for any user company of the Aegean Free Zone upon request.
As of March, ESBAS began providing outpatient clinic and emergency services with a physician and a nurse from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. during the weekdays for night-shift employees. The purpose of this is to improve OHS services and meet the needs of Zone companies. Pulmonary disease and internal disease specialists are available during the morning hours.
In accordance with Turkish law, newly-hired employees are required to undergo occupational health and safety training. The ESBAS Occupational Health and Safety Unit gives general occupational health and safety training the first and third Friday of every month from 8 a.m. to noon in the ESBAS Technology Center Education Hall.
