 “New Opportunities in a New Era: Izmir as the City of Free Zones” panel was organized at ESBAS Technology Center Conference Hall with collaboration of ESBAS and ESIAD (Aegean Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association). 

ESIAD Chairman of the Board, Mustafa Güçlü, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry Vice President, H. Ibrahim Gökçüoğlu and Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Aziz Kocaoğlu delivered opening remarks before the panel, which saw a wide range of participants from Izmir and the Aegean Free Zone. 

A number of presentations were given on vital issues ranging from positioning of Izmir as a city of Free Zones and expectations from the Free Zones to the Free Zones regulation in Türkiye, the new vision of the Ministry of Economy on Free Zones and the position of Izmir in this vision. 

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Saygılıoğlu moderated the panel, featuring  guest speakers Cihan Türsen (IEKKK-Coordination Board for Economic Development in Izmir- Izmir the City of Free Zones Committee Chairman), Zübeyde Solak (Ministry of Economy, General Directorate of Free Zones Foreign Investments and Services Head of Department), Eyüp Sevimli (IZBAS Izmir Free Zone Chairman of the Board), Bilgen Salih Narlı (Chairman of Aegean Free Zone Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association) and ESBAS CEO Dr. Faruk Güler.
