Municipality of Gaziemir and ESBAS collaborated for an event to mark the World Environment Day on June 5, where the staff of both organizations cleaned the hazardous wastes at the picnic area in Sarnıç Gölet and then planted trees.
The staffs of the municipality and ESBAS and students from the Aircraft Technologies Program at the Vocational School of Aviation at Ege University in Sarnıç collaborated in the event to mark World Environment Day on June 5 in Gaziemir to clean the area of hazardous wastes and garbage. After the environmental cleaning, volunteers planted trees.
Speaking about the event, Mayor of Gaziemir Halil İbrahim Şenol emphasized that pollution poses the biggest risk for today and the near future and that especially children should be conscious of the environment. ESBAS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Faruk Güler complimented all volunteers for their sensitivity to the environment.
