National Sovereignty And Children's Day

Retired astronaut Dr. Don Thomas, who went to space four times during his 20 years at NASA, has sent a special video message to Space Camp Turkey to celebrate the National Sovereignty And Children's Day of children in Turkey.

Dr. Thomas celebrated April 23 Children's Day by shooting a video with the Turkish flag and the Atatürk figure in the background. Retired astronaut also emphasized that this year is the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Grand National Assembly during his message and was quoted as saying “All of our children here today, you represent the future of Turkey and the future of Planet Earth. That is why it is so important for you to always work hard, do your best in school every single day and never give up on your dream in life. Keep your eyes on the stars!”.

As a part of Space Camp Turkey’s 20th anniversary celebrations, astronaut Dr. Thomas is planned to be invited to our facility in Izmir, operated by ESBAS, and attend the International Summer Camp programs as our special guest to meet with the participants.
