vibrant economy is a complex mix of modern industry and traditional

yet the State still plays a major role in some basic industries,
banking, transport and communication.

In 2006, Turkish GDP reached 290 billion USD in the 3rd quarter, Real GDP Growth
+10,3 %; Consumer Price Inflation +9,65%; Unemployment 10%.

Turkey's major trading
partners are Germany, USA, Italy, France, UK and Russia. 50% of
the Country's exports (mostly agriculture, textiles, iron, and steel)
are to the EU. Imports are weighted to oil, machinery and chemicals. |
