Having started his four-day visit to Turkey, US Assistant Secretary of Commerce Michael Camunez and the accompanying delegation first visited ESBAŞ and the Aegean Free Zone in İzmir.

At the meeting held in the Conference Hall of ESBAŞ Technology Center, Camunez gathered with US firms operating in the Aegean Free Zone and İzmir and informed representatives of those firms about the purpose of his visit to Turkey. Representatives of US firms Delphi Diesel, Cummins and HMT, operating in the Aegean Free Zone, attended the meeting.

After receiving information on ESBAŞ and the Aegean Free Zone, Camunez stated that he was very much impressed by the investments made in the Aegean Free Zone. Camunez expressed his wishes for an increasing continuation in those investments and pointed out that he would make further contacts in order to use every opportunity, particularly in the energy sector in Turkey.
